As of March 9, 2026, Half Load signs are posted on provincial highways including Highway 548 (Bridge Road). Half Load signs will be posted this week for all municipal roads in Tarbutt. For more information about half loads in Tarbutt, please contact the Roads Superintendent (705-989-4303). What are half-load restrictions? They limit heavy vehicles to 5 tonnes per axle to help protect roads from damage during the freeze/thaw cycle. When the ground is soft, roadbeds are more vulnerable — restricting loads reduces costly repairs and keeps our roads safer for everyone.
